Jamesemt Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I'm painting my Precision but can't decide on a colour. If I had a maple neck, then it would be LPB without a doubt, but I have a rosewood neck and am a bit stuck. Going for a bit of a vintage vibe, scratch plate will not be tort as I can't stand it, probably parchment. I'm thinking Candy Apple Red...what do you reckon? Quote
MB1 Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 MB1. Lovely colour candy apple red but not the easiest to spray. Quote
kristinaelias Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Can't go wrong with CAR, but if you fancy something more unusual then why not go for Sonic (not the darker Daphne) Blue, that was only originally produced with Rosewood - well on Strats anyway, ever so George Harrison. Or there's always Oly white? Quote
Cat Burrito Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I think daphne blue or surf green look great on Fender basses with rosewood Quote
Jamesemt Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Never thought about Daphne blue before - seems to really suit Rosewood (and is the current favourite). Anyone got any thoughts on Firemist? Quote

Fiesta red, also with tort is a great look - very Pino! Quote
Alfie Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Go for a double, LPB with CAR underneath, so where the LPB wears away with gigging and touring use, the CAR will show through. Quote
Horizontalste Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I've just done a Jazz in Nitro Daphne, looks sweet with the cream pickguard. Quote
