molan
Just spotted this, good condition SWR Studio 220 sitting at £100. Can't copy the link from here but just search & it'll pop up

molan
That's the one - £102 seems like someone got a bargain.
Beedster
I was interested, but reviews say they're underpowered
molan
I think they are more of a home / studio amp (the clue may be in the title, lol).
BassBod
I've used mine a lot for smaller gigs - and also as a light power amp for an Alembic preamp. Gets decent volume without cranking through a single 1x15 (nice Bag End, cheers Chris!) or 1x12. Wouldn't use it for a Goliath 4x10...its not up to that without some help. nugget
I was interested, but reviews say they're underpowered
I gig with one twice a week in a 5 piece band doing the usual pop/rock covers! Play mainly pubs but also large beer festivals, weddings in large venues and open air festivals etc. It can easily cope with it. You can pick these up for not a lot (£200 seems going rate) and they sound amazing for that money.
chris_b
....I was interested, but reviews say they're underpowered....
In my experience, very underpowered. I owned one for 24 hours. I took it back and got an Ampeg SVT3PRO instead.
Beedster
In my experience, very underpowered. I owned one for 24 hours. My thinking on most gear is that online reviews tend to be VERY positive (they're either written by someone who's just bought one and is prone to a little cognitive dissonance regarding any faults, or written by someone with a similar vested interest). So the fact that so many people said this was an underpowerd unit at 200w put me off bidding. I also found quite a few mentions of unreliability also. I'm not saying it's not a great amp, simply that I don't think it's a bargain even at that price. You can pick up very good stuff very cheap at the moment. BassBod
Look out for an SWR Bass(ic) 350, the red faced one. Simpler preamp, more horsepower..but some have got the noisy fan as well. Would love to try one with a single Bag End one day.
