elliot352
ok so i found this clip on youtube of a band called 'dirty loops' doing their own interpretation of 'just dance' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnSJuD-h_nA and thought the bassists tone and technique was really good. anyway i thought it would be fun to learn it, however this has proved quite difficult as i cant hear the bass clearly enough or see his hands for long enough to get it right. so i was wondering if anyone has learnt this before or could learn it and help me out a bit. i'm sure there's loads of bassists out there who would really appreciate it

sonicaddiction
Dirty Loops are great and I *really* like Henriks bassplaying. He played bass with the swedish pop-metal band Blowsight a couple of years laying solid basslines and riffs but his playing in Dirty Loops seems so much more playful and creative. I think it's more of a "musicians music" though and not everyone's cup of tea. My non musician friends I've played this for don't like it at all... sonicaddiction
Of course the drummer and singer/keyboarist are fantastic to! I really love the piano solo on their version of Circus. It sounds kind of cool and creepy at the same time.

Bilbo
The DL guy has really upped the bar for pop/funk bass. Some of these lines are really out of the box. I would love to be able to play like that but, I learned a long time ago, if you keep trying to 'keep up' with the fastest guns, you can waste a lot of time not finding your own voice. As a jazz player that is wasted time but, all that aside, I wish anyone who wants to nail this the best of luck. And if anyone does get it written down, I'll be the first to download it!!
