Its pretty much the same as my last build but with a few tweaks ...i'll probably go for ash instead of walnut on the back. Sticking with the 33" scale which i am now a big fan of. scojack Posted December 8, 2011 Author Share Posted December 8, 2011 Well heres the plan ... Slightly shorter headstock and pull the machineheads closer to the nut. Move FB and bridge back a little. Henry - No i didnt wind my own pups for that build, there's 'vintage' Kent Armstrong Humbuckers hiding in there. I was thinking about winding a set of single coils for this project but thats a long way off yet. I used a 33" scale as the bass was for small hands, but now i've played it myself i actually prefer it. Can't say i've noticed any implications sound-wise, just really nice and comfy to play. Most people who don't like shorter scales have only played mega-cheap budget instruments or Gibson Mudbuckers (an acquired taste if nothing else).
