mcnach Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I recently bought this '94 Korean (Cort factory) Squier Jazz. The electrics malfunctioned but was pretty sweet otherwise, with a pretty nice neck. So after a few weeks, I finally got on with it. Pickguard was white, I put a tortoise-shell like one I had from an old project that didn't work out. I changed the wiring entirely. The original pickups were pretty disappointing. I had a pair of Gotoh alnico pickups I got earlier in the year in a trade, so I thought I'd put them here. Unfortunately this bass was a bit unusual: the bridge pickup had the same dimensions of a normal neck pickup! So I had to chisel the route a bit to make the pickup fit, but it wasn't too hard. A set of D'Addario nylon tapewounds finished it off. And here it is. I think it looks pretty sweet, and it sounds great. Those pickups are surprisingly nice. It's not a "new bass" day, but almost!
