Faithless Posted November 16, 2007 Author Posted November 16, 2007 Thanks for your kind offer, Dave, but, guys.. I ain't lookin' for Ibanez again. I'm now far more to Fender's side, so could anyone say few words about this thing ?: http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0261000552 Quote
Tait Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 i doubt you'll get more versatile than the ibanez. i get great funky tones (i can't stand jazz, so i've not tried that one out) from my SR500, surely you can get better ones with the SR1005? Quote

EdwardHimself Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 i've heard that they are really good basses. Quote

I find them aesthetically wonderful, not sure how it affects the sound though ;-) Then again there's those of us who must simply have 'Fender' on the headstock. For me there's no contest, even though the SR Prestige costs more, it's worth it. Quote
bass_ferret Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 I've no problem if the OP wants to downgrade to a Fender - he should not feel he has to because of the music he plays. Quote
stingrayfan Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Ibanez make some great stuff but get the Fender, it'll hold its money better Quote
bass_ferret Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Doesn't anyone read a thread before posting? The OP already has a top of the range Ibanez. Quote
Exile252 Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Well, I have the Fender in question. It's a lovely bass, ever thing is perfect, stays in tune so well, I've only tuned it like 5 times in a couple of months. The only problem is that it is fairly quiet, and isn't active. Where as the Ibanez which is a little bit more expensive (If its the one I'm thinking of), but is Active. Quote
bass_ferret Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007
It still goes on... So, as I tought it could happen, I've started playing jazz and funk ( rock didn't go anywhere, still got it's band), I'm now thinking of changing instrument - sell Ibanez SR1005, and take more versalite instrument. As I'm looking for 5 string 24 fretted bass, it becomes sort of problem, when looking at Fender's Jazz Basses, buuut, things happen, and they released 2007 model: http://www.fender.com/products//search.php?partno=0261000552 It has passive/active switch, Duncan pickups and other interesting things. It looks, this model came for me, but I'm waiting for your opinions, guys, on this thing.
Yes he does! Quote
