Walker Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Can I use one of these (it's an ebay link) to put my drum machine and bass through my amp at the same time? VTypeV4 Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I don't see why not.. Just remember any EQ and/or compression applied to the bass will also be on the drums... Quote
flyfisher Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 That widget will certainly allow you to connect both bass and drum machine into a single input . . . but that's not the whole story. A passive guitar gives out a very, very low level signal (similar to mic level) but a drum machine usually outputs a line-level signal, which is much, much higher. An active guitar will output a much higher level signal than a passive one. So the real issue will be balancing the volume levels between guitar and drum machine. You probably know this already but make sure all volume controls are at minimum when you plug everything together into your amp and be careful when first increasing volume levels until you get a feel for how sensitive things are. Walker Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Thank you for the advice. I'll be very careful! Cheers Chris Quote
Happy Jack Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 What amp are you using? There are plenty that will allow you to simply plug your drum machine straight in without needing to share a cable with your bass. Look for an "Aux In" socket, maybe a Send/Return, quite possibly an FX Loop. Check the amp's manual first, obviously. Quote
Walker Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 I'm afraid it's a MarkBass TTE 500, very few 'holes' in it! Quote
