discreet
D'oh! Had to think about that one. Don't usually do the cryptic.
Mykesbass
Yep, it was one of only 4 that I've managed to get so far
discreet
That's why I don't usually do the cryptic!
paulconnolly
Simple anagram but good to note the recognition. The Everyman is one of the easier cryptic crosswords. Being a Grauniad man then anything by Auracaria tends to fox me
Cosmo Valdemar
Being hopeless with crosswords, can anyone put me out of my misery? By that I mean reveal the answer, not shoot me.

discreet
Anagram of first two words of clue.
BigRedX
All depends on whether or not you think like the person who's set the clues for the crossword. I've always found Auracaria to be one of the easier ones.
brummie
'Titles' was Mick Karns first album, if that helps.

[/quote] Sorry, wasn't the intention at all, didn't want to spoil it for those that did want to work it out. I posted because I thought it was nice that a crossword setter felt a bass player was a big enough household name to be worthy of being a crosword clue. It is of course Entwistle - as pointed out by discreet, an anagram of the first two words.
discreet
Let's have some more bass-player crossword clues! Slap in a two coin voter? (6, 6) Yeah I know, I'm bored.
discreet
Python lilt back in town (4,6) I'll stop now shall I? It's getting late...
