Simple anagram but good to note the recognition. The Everyman is one of the easier cryptic crosswords. Being a Grauniad man then anything by Auracaria tends to fox me

Sorry, wasn't the intention at all, didn't want to spoil it for those that did want to work it out. I posted because I thought it was nice that a crossword setter felt a bass player was a big enough household name to be worthy of being a crosword clue. It is of course Entwistle - as pointed out by discreet, an anagram of the first two words.
