Ou7shined Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Well the story about selling for someone else holds some water as the pick-up/viewing address is 2 miles up the road from the address they are offering the same options for the Squier Strat they are selling. The Ric owner has had it for over 30 years.... could they be internet/ebay illiterate and therefore need assistance selling? Perhaps. I'm going to go with it is what it says it is... a restoration. Who knows what original parts are left. Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Chromed sales on the bridge say that's not a Rick one. Tuners are def wrong, an think holes from right ones would show up as those have a small footprint. Quote
davehux Posted December 15, 2011 Author Posted December 15, 2011 I'm thinking that the skunk stripe is too wide, there's no white binding on the body edge, and the top strap button is in the wrong place. Plus of course the non-existent Ricky TRC Quote
Musky Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Definately a 'faker. The grover style tuners don't say 'Grover' on them, the fingerboard is way too dark (which is the real giveaway). Quote
davehux Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Pulled by the seller - I hope no-one's offered her a Buy-It-Now price and bought themselves a pup Quote
Soloshchenko Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Most definitely a faker, seen the exact machine heads on a couple of CMIs I've owned. Quote
