Sitting here freezing my nuts off in my brother's bike shop. I just thought I would post some jazz that may help some of the people who 'don't get' jazz to find a way in.

This is a San Francisco based jazz collective featuring some of todays leading new young players. They recently did a double cd of arrangements of Stevie Wonder tunes. So, have a listen to the one we have all played taken in a different direction. Stevie Wonder's 'Superstition'.

A Beatles tune....if you don't get this, you have no soul.

Here's a track from one of my all-time favourite albums - Beyond the Missouri Sky by Charlie Haden & Pat Metheny. Rock players will know the chord sequence... just not done like this...

Bloody typical jazzers. Horn section yapping through the music waiting for their solos. I see this all the damn time when I see a jazz band, and is one of those things I can't stand.

And why has the drummer got cat sick on his floor tom?

I really do not like Moondance and Sunny and I laugh when people think they are jazz tunes. However, here's one of the best jazz tunes ever written, Duke Ellington's Satin Doll.
