pantherairsoft
Hey folks, Just wondering if anyone local to me (Nottingham) had a short scale bass; 32 or 33" that I could pop round (or you can pop round) and try at some point. In an ideal world it would be a 6 string - but imagine this is unlikely, so any short scale is cool. I'm interested to try one, having never had the chance before. Cheers folks Shep
BigRedX
Short scale is usually means 29½" - 30½" some what you're looking for is a medium scale bass. If you want to try a 4-string 30" scale length bass I have a fake Kramer Duke you're welcome to have a go on. I've also got a 26" scale Fernades Pie-zo for a real short-scale experience. pantherairsoft
Cool... Well in which case I guss a medium scale is what I'm after trying. Basically something slightly shorted than a 34" scale. That said, the 30" scale sounds quite interesting... Shep
BigRedX
Well let me know if you'd like a go on the fake Duke. It'll probably have to be after Christmas though...
pantherairsoft
That'd be cool dude. Whenever you're free. After Christmas would be great. Lemme know when you're free for an hour dude. Cheers
Prime_BASS
I'm sure there is someone in notts with a wood and tronics that 5 string 33 inch scale. I forget his username though. Try the old bass bash thread?
mcgraham
Gosh you'd think I'd be more memorable than this! Shep, my W&T are both 33" scale length. TBH I don't notice much of a difference, and I'm pretty attentive to these things. You're obviously welcome to check them both out... again
pantherairsoft
Oh! Lol. I thought they were both 34" scale!! Ha... Well that solves that then! I definitely want to check the fretted out again. I've played the fret less loads but with that 3 Octave board it's hard to gain perspective on length. Sorry. Love you really. Geek99
Its a Prose Bass custom - Paul Rose attended the 2009 bass bash. I never thought I would own one.

I actually discussed a build back then, but redundancy at the time put it all aside and those thoughts got lost in the sands of time. Will certainly be interested in having a play!
