Jamesemt Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I'm thinking about getting an MTD Artist, but have no way of trying it first. Just wondered what people's experiences of the weight were? Average, light or heavy? Really can't cope with a heavy bass... Realise it depends on the piece of wood, just wondered what people's experiences were?? Quote
Machines Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 I think I picked one up for a noodle in Bass Direct - I seem to remember it being fairly light. Quote
Owen Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 If you can find one of the MTD Heir generation of instruments they are extremely llight, have a lush neck (IMNSHO) and are easily upgradeable electronically. Lush beyond. Quote

Not as nice as a Marleaux, but close. Quote
haruki Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I've got a 5 string MTD - I think its an artist (I've been told and always forget.) Its got a single MM style pickup and was naturally passive - though I have an East eq in it now. Its pretty light - just under 4Kg on my scales. Its also a nice shape when playing live - kinda comfy.
