LukeFRC
Frequency limiting? the SD's will definatly be brighter a have a extended low end, depending on model. they also tend to have an even range (providing the bass is setup ruight)
I have a set of SD on my P bass, I like them. LukeFRC
So the plan is..... Try a set of barts in there..... If the preamp sounds good with them then just change the pots I need to to bring out the best in passive pups. If not try another preamp in there. I was looking at glockenklang 2 band, but the East SP2 also looks quite good for a similar price. ACG filter based would be awesome, the EQ01 would be brilliant and worth the extra I think, but not available. Not sure about the EQ02, need to think about that one. alanbass1
I always liked the sound of EMGs on a Warwick, which is what they first used before changing to MEC
