Bass_man219 Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Anyone got any new basses or other bass gear today? Quote
Immo Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I got (from myself, but it still counts!) a bass consisting Fender Sting Bass'es neck and Squier VM 70's TB body and hardware. That's the best thing I've got for Christmas since that train model when I was a kid... Quote
Wylie Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) If a book counts as gear, the Pat Metheny Songbook, about two pounds of a hell of a lot of Metheny songs! Most with full bass transcription. From my sweet wife. tg Edited December 25, 2011 by tedgilley Quote
icastle Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Nope. My sole involvement in christmas this year was a xmas card on the doormat a couple of days ago - the postman misdelivered it... Quote
woodyratm Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I got new strings if that counts. Worryingly my sister got the right brand and gauge! Quote
Ou7shined Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 From my g/f I got a Planet Waves NS Mini. Absolutely by chance, from her sister & b/f I got a Snark SN-2. As a more than content Polytune user I'm slightly bemused as to how this could have happened.... On the plus side it has given me a brilliant chance to put them both head to head with each other... literally. Quote
Billy Apple Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I got an Orange.... and some nuts Quote
clauster Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 My wife got me a lovely Rockbag Professional gig bag. Quote
Cat Burrito Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 It seems the days of people posting about expensive basses over the festive period are long gone. Personally I was delighted with my fitted hard case for my Jazz and a little Vox practice amp. Good stuff Quote
jezzaboy Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I got some cash and don`t really need anything so, after watching that fantastic Bowie on totp I think I`m going to go down and buy a very expensive curly lead. Just to get a bit retro. Jez Quote
Gunsfreddy2003 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Nice looking case - where is that from? Geek99 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I got something I chose myself from on here, a five string fanned fret shortscale prose bass. The only downer about it is that its EADGC not BEADG as I thought. I also got a bag of picks with the kids photos on them. Quote
Blademan_98 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Nope, I got a motorcycle from my wife [attachment=95995:XJ600S (Medium).jpg] Quote

4-string-thing Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Not bass gear, but a really nice baritone ukulele... much more fun than one of those bass guitar thingies! At last, I can now form my ukukele-based U2 tribute band "Uke2" (copyright: 4-string-thing) Quote
