SidVicious1978
i want to replace my pickups in my fender jaguar bass but can i use passive pickups with the preamp because the pickups in it now are 2 wired as a standard jazz pickup but i want to put a set of fender noiseless pickups with the preamp and active/passive switch Sidv
icastle
Unless there's been a redesign I've not heard of, the pickups in your Jaguar are already passive - it's the tone control that's active. If you take a peek under the scratchplate and follow the wires back to the pickups, you should find the usual two wires (one black, one white). SidVicious1978
well the bridge yellow wire goes to the second switch (peg 6) and the black one goes to the first switch (peg 2) and the neck white one goes to the first switch on (peg 5) and the black one goes to the volume pot http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f38/fender-jaguar-wiring-schematic-741975/
icastle
Yep - they're passive pickups. If you take a close look at the diagram there are just two wires going to each pickup - active pickups have a third connection going back to the power supply. If you take a look here the wire colours even match your existing ones. Batfastard
Why do you want Noiseless pickups is it because of the hum? If so your best bet is to get some copper sheilding tape and do the cavities and the back of the scratchplate.
SidVicious1978
cause the neck pickup is broken and the bridge has a low output and noiseless are the cheapest i can find
