norvegicusbass Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 What would be a decent practice amp to go with a Lindo semi accoustic bass? Requirements are that its for the home and not gigging and that maybe has a headphone jack for when my playing makes the kids cry ( which is often ). Oh and did I mention reasonably priced. Quote
Happy Jack Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Budget comes into this, obviously, as does whether you have any other equipment you can use. Also, will you always be practising through headphones or do you want be able to play "aloud" on occasion. As a general (but expensive) solution, check out the PJB Bass Buddy. It's the perfect rehearsal tool, and it can be used as a 10W power amp to drive a cab at low volumes. As a much cheaper option, check out which devices have a headphone socket, or something that can be used as a headphone socket ... maybe a Line Out. Somewhere in the middle, you could try a Rolls PM351 (you'll have to import it from the States) which is an excellent practice tool but is actually designed for use as on-stage in ear monitoring (IEM) which might come in handy sometime. Linus27 Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 EBS Classic Session 60 is awsome. About £200 new, 60 watts and sounds fantasic. Quote
pete.young Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Roland MicroCube or Peavey Microbass are both very good, and probably a bit more realistically priced than the PJB stuff. Quote
Monckyman Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Roland cube. Was a local one on here for a bargain price last week. Quote
