Phil-osopher10
Hey, I was looking into effects and i sort of want a pedal that can produce subtle valve overdriven sound right up to thhe dirty almost crunchy sound. Does DHA do such a thing? if so what should i go for? Also browny points for sound clips!
munkonthehill
i bought one of these on a whim. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/119897-dha-vt1-di-drive/page__p__1134225__hl__dha__fromsearch__1#entry1134225 This pedal does everyting from slight tube warmth to all out Motorhead distortion and everywhere inbetween. Buy safe with DHA as his pedals rock.
Phil-osopher10
What is the I/P pad about?
RichF
I/P pad = it varies impedance to allow for variation in hotness of input (from active/passive basses). Dave's pedals are great. Depends what you need - VT1 will give you the basic valve OD tone you are looking for. VT2 dual channel will allow a basic tone with a switchable second channel which can be right up to crazy distortion (not quite fuzz). Dave does variations on these (right up to rack mounted units). Check out his website. There are also reviews of a few of the models in the effects review section. sorry dont have clips of my VT2 dual channel (now sold, solely cause it is massive). GarethFlatlands
I've got the VT1 but not had chance to have a good play around with it. Seems like it needs a bit of tweaking and a good power supply to work noise free but I was very impressed when I tried it through my computer through an amp sim. So impressed, I pulled the trigger on a DI>EQ today to complete my simple pedalboard.
paul_5
The Di/EQ is a superb bit of kit. I've just sold mine due to getting a VT2, but it was whisper quiet when going into Protools etc... really flexible EQ section too.
GarethFlatlands
That's cool, my audio interface is a bit shaky with plugging stuff straight in so I'm hoping it will sort that as well as giving me a nice tone I can transfer between rigs.
