RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Just heard a track on an online station from them. It must be 5 years plus since 10,000 days. Maybe the bass whammy is being repaired.) Quote
danweb22 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 5 years is about right for them! Always worth the wait I think mind you :-) Quote
Stag Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I do love a bit of Mr Chancellor's work every now and then. Vicarious... what a tune that is. If the new stuff sounds like that, then im in. Quote
Graham Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 I think there was supposed to be a new album this year, hopefully be next year now; can't wait to hear new material and see them again - one of the most visually stunning bands I've seen Quote
bobbass4k Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Lateralus and 10,000 days both took 5 years so they'll only be a year late, I think they're writing/recording it now so it's probably aimed for a 2012 release. Knowing them it'll probably be themed around the Mesoamerican apocalypse. It's coming, be patient. Quote
uncle psychosis Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 They're one of these bands who I'm sure I'd like but have never really listened to...keep meaning to pick up some albums but they all seem quite expensive given how long they've been out for... Quote

[/quote] But worth every penny, try downloading a couple of tracks and see how you do - say: Stinkfist or Forty Six & 2 off Aenima; The Grudge or Schism off Lateralus or Vicarious or Jambi from 10000 Days I'm not sure if those were all singles but they'd give you a flavour of the band and each of those albums which all sound different whilst still being clearly Tool Quote
paul_5 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) I'm a fairly recent convert to Tool, but am loving discovering all their albums. Edited December 30, 2011 by paul_5 Quote
MusicJunkie Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 The Pot and AEnima are both well worth checking out, too. The TOOL Twitter account says there's been some activity in their camp lately, so we should hear something soonish, I hope! Quote

Jam Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Great bass playing, I especially enjoy Lateralus, Schism and 46 & 2. Quote
MusicJunkie Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 The bass is always the highlight of any Tool album. Quote
