I've never tried the Bass Whammy, but I do own the regular (red) version and it works fine.
I use the octave up/down a lot and the detune (chorus type effect) has also been used a lot.
It's one of my favourite and most used pedals that I have.

the difference in sound is minimal, just different harmonies

you'l be fine with the current reisue i would think, if you want the 'tool' harmonies though, get a xp100 off ebay

Yeah I was looking at the xp100. And I am a big fan of Tool and the way Justin Chancellor uses the whammy. Would the xp100 be a better option then?

the xp100 has the tool harmonies, so ye it would be a better option

and you should be able to find one for less than the price of the current reissue new
