LukeFRC
that plus 20% the taxman will take, plus a setup and new strings, plus 12 month warranty....but yes it is pretty steep, but jap fenders on bass chat go for a bit more than £400, more towards £450-600 mark. alanbass1
Seems a little pricey and would be surprised if anyone hit the buy button. But it is a shop so they will have a mark up and VAT to pay, which won't help them make a sell
obbm
Interesting that they also have it on their web site and in the store at the same price. By my reckoning the Ebay Sellers fee and Paypal fees come to about £65. I wonder what they would want for collect and pay cash. Maybe I'll ask. pete.young
Seems a bit optimistic to me - even not-for-export MIJ/CIJ stuff doesn't reach anything like that sort of figure.
karlfer
75 RI Jazzes seem to go round about the £600 mark. I think part of the problem is that in the last year Fender Japan new prices have rocketted (presumably due to exchange rate and VAT increase). It seems individuals and businesses are looking at new price and jacking the 2nd hand price up to match. The result is few seem to sell. I would love a Marcus Miller, which a year ago you would have got on here for around £550/£600. Now sellers are asking £750/£900 for them. No thanks . I have a second hand Yam custom shop for sale, new over £1700, nobody prepared to pay £850, cest la guerre. Karl.
obbm
Partial result. £689 if bought in the shop, however still too much.
