observer Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 We wish to start playing a cajon alongside a drum kit in our bands set and wonder if any of you out there have any ideas as to what would be the best mic to use? We tried a couple of mics from ebay recommended for a cajon, but it didn't work well, because of feedback and poor clarity of sound. Any ideas? Quote
discreet Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Have you tried an internal mic? http://www.kopfpercussion.com/internal-microphone-system/ Quote
Mog Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 If you check YouTube for Ryan Sheridan live clips there might be a few closeups of his percussionist. He mics up his cajon and hand cymbals but I've never managed to get a close look at the gear. Quote
chrisd24 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 We use one of these on our cajon http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?moduleno=228613 it's ridiculously cheap I know but it actually sounds pretty damn good! And clips on to the soundhole so you can just leave it there when you unplug after a gig. Quote
