dan2112
Has anyone seen these yet? http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/news/news-story/news_id/4903/?utm_source=news&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rss
RhysP
WOW! Such innovation! They're ever so slightly different to all the other Fenders available & use "new" features that other manufacturers have had as standard for years. Still, I'm sure there will be long queues of people waiting to spend their wad on them.....both literally & euphemistically.
wateroftyne
There's a thread on these already.. And a bonus comedy thread.

I don't class a bit of fancy wood veneer & some different inlays as groundbreaking, innovative or a radical new departure in fenders history - it's just window dressing on the same old sh*te. This seems like a throwback to the Jap photoflame era of the 90s. Goes around, comes around...

Sibob
I think they'd actually be ok without the scratchplates, like a more 'trad' version of the old FMT basses. But yeah.....I'm not bowled over by these. Si

shizznit
I have seen the 2012 catalogue and nothing has really sparked for me. More reinventions of the same wheel. Nothing wrong with that because I am a big Fender fan, but I can't help but feel that they haven't moved forward much over the last 10yrs. But, whatever. They have had a successful for formula for decades. Who am I to criticise?
Mikeg
I think the jazz would be lovely with a black pickguard, although at that price you could get one custom made to your specifications.

Immo
This new P-bass looks much like my P-bass. I didn't knew I was getting so famous that Fender will start making my signature!
daz
"both models include premium features such as; a three-ply pickguard, high mass bridge, knurled chrome knobs..." Woooooo such innovation. How do they think up this new ideas?

chrismuzz
They look ok... But why are Fender so obsessed with white pickguards?
