lowregisterhead Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) For sale is my MM Stingray 5 in Honeyburst, fitted with a custom see-thru plate. The previous owner, although he thought the circuitry being visible looked very cool, found it picked up a tiny bit of hum in the studio as the plate's not foil backed as normal. As a temporary work-around, he took some foil, trimmed it to size, and fitted it under the plate to 'seal' the control cavity from interference, which it does very well. I've never bothered to remove it in the 5 years I've owned the bass, as I think it looks slightly reminiscent of a 4-string Stingray's chrome control plate. Overall it's in very good condition, apart from a few very small dings in the lacquer on the lower edge of the body, but nothing major. The other notable thing about this example is it's a lightweight for a Stingray 5 - I've owned a few over the years, so I can attest to this - weighing in at only 8.25 lbs. Comes with a good quality Fender gigbag, price £900 plus shipping. Please don't tempt me with trades, I'm trying to downsize!! More pics (along with some of my Clover Avenger 5, Dingwall Combustion 5, and Ibanez Roadster that are also up for sale) are here: http://s1141.photobu...wwregisterhead/ NOW SOLD...
