artisan Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 brings back memories of almost every gig i ever played. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYlsSWW0rPI Quote
Len_derby Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Fantastic. Totally spot-on. Where is the drummer? Quote
TheRev Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 So true it's sad. Mind you, the last time we had a group of women out on a 40th birthday, they totally made the gig. It's not often you get calls for more Leonard Cohen and Jeff Buckley Quote
arthurhenry Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 They forgot the bit where you take some gear out to the car, only to hear "sorry mate, pub's closed" from a member of staff as you try to get back in to continue loading out. Quote
Higgie Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Seen it before, but still gives me a good giggle! Thanks for reminding me of it Quote

RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Having trouble forwarding to my friends on iPad. What's the name of the first one? Quote
Killerfridge Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012
Having trouble forwarding to my friends on iPad. What's the name of the first one?
It's just called Pub Rock and one of the tags is called "Where is the drummer" They also didn't mention having to carry all the gear through the crowded pub, to the set up area on the far side of the pub. Quote
leonshelley01 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I have just forwarded those to other band members. Like everyone, sounds eerily familar to conversations I've had at venues. The only missing part is the lack of anywhere to unload within half a mile. Quote
the_skezz Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) Haven't had much experience with pubs at this level (sending them CDs, posters etc) but I can certainly relate to a lot of this! Also, is it just me or does the promoter/pub owner sound a lot like Rowan Atikinson doing satire, NTNOCN style? Edited January 6, 2012 by the_skezz Quote
amnesia Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 "Where is the drummer?" "The drummer is at the wrong gig" Quote
FlatEric Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Priceless and in quite a few cases, so true. "Where's the Drummer" - in our case, usually last!!! Bless 'im! Very funny, I shall pass this on! Cheers. Quote
fatback Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 (edited) Both spot on hilarious. Thanks Edited January 6, 2012 by fatback Quote
