Anyone else play/played/seen anyone else play like this? I don't find it easy...fuller tone though? Quote
JakeBrownBass Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 He's essentially using his thumb as a pick, similar to the double thumb technique to an extent. I've used it on a gig when I forgot any pics and need a more driving tone. Quote
Doctor J Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 That's what the "tug-bar" is for on early Fenders, Leo thought that's how the electric bass guitar would be played, the player would rest his fingers on the bar and play using the thumb to pick the strings. Quote
