dafonky Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 the bass has a correct tortoise guard, not the white one in this pic ........i do not have a pic of the bass with the tort guard for the moment
Sibob Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Would the scratchplate not have been the 'mint-green' seeing at it's a custom colour!? Beautiful bass Si
99ster Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012
Would the scratchplate not have been the 'mint-green' seeing at it's a custom colour!? Beautiful bass Si
Lovely looking bass! But as Si says...the original pickguard would have been white on a CAR Fender in '65...maybe worth clarifying this for potential buyers? Best of luck with the sale!
dafonky Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 Hi freaks I know. The original guard is a white plastic pickguard. A greenish white nitro guard would not be correct for this bass . They were used before that period on custom colors, only until 1964. Anyway, i'll put a white one on it if I sell it Does anybody have one for sale ?
alanbass1 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) It is a beautiful bass but you need to be careful with some of the words you have used in the first post - is this bass 'all original'? Edited January 8, 2012 by alanbass1
dafonky Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 yepp..... all original with a white plastic guard, which i did put on another 66' P bass. If I sell the CAR, it will be sold with the plastic white guard
