Happy Jack Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 (edited) This is a truly excellent entry-level fretless ... the only reason it's "entry-level" is because it's so laughably cheap. It's a 1995 example in pretty much mint condition, everything works as it should. It's lightweight, versatile, has a "really fast neck" (I can play slow blues twice as fast on this bass - ) which is definitely more Jazz than Precision, and bags of mwah. It's also a bit blue. For loads more photos, some of them correctly focused, go to: http://s1128.photobu...1995%20CURRENT/ The bass lives in Chiswick (London W4), but can easily be brought to the West End (London WC1), and I have no problem with posting it (for an extra £20). It will come with a rather dull gigbag and an even duller strap (not the one in the photos). Collected, it's yours for £140. In the unlikely event that you know nothing about these basses, I've been told that this is a good read: http://basschat.co.u..._hl__backwaters Edited January 11, 2012 by Happy Jack
threedaymonk Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 If only I could find a plausible intellectual justification for needing yet another colourful Japanese fretless four-string, I'd be straight on this. Must resist the temptation …
Happy Jack Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012
Is this an active bass, Jack?
Yup - the only passive SGC Nanyo was the SB301. This fretless is based on the SB310. Controls are Volume, Pan, Treble Boost/Cut, Bass Boost/Cut.

alyctes Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 It's certainly blue. It ought to go to someone who gives their basses girls' names - then it could be Lonesome Ann
jonsparrow91 Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012
I'd prefer cash, but never say "never". What did you have in mind?
I've got an SX Precision with Wilkinsons tuners and a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder, if that float's your boat. I'd want £125 for it so I'd give you £15 cash to make up the difference.
Happy Jack Posted January 9, 2012 Author Posted January 9, 2012 Shame - I already have two nice Precisions, so that doesn't really work for me.

shantijoe Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Hiya these are excellent basses and this is a giveaway price. I bought one from the Bass Centre in the mid 90's and was surprised at the excellent quality- I had a lot of use from it when my 'vintage' numbers were inappropriate. Good luck Jack- a man you can trust with all things bass-ic, joe
