What bass is John Glascock playing?

I Thought he was strictly a P bass man , wikipedia says he aslo played Music Man , this looks like a telecaster bass:

I think in the 70s that would have been a Telecaster bass. By that time the P bass we know today was well established and the Telecaster bass would have been a way to satisfy those who wanted the original design of the Precision.

Brilliant stuff - the best line up of Tull ever IMO.

Around the 6 minute mark, you can just about make out the single-coil P-pickup beneath the scratchplate, so it looks a 50s Precision. You'd easily be able to see the Tele bass pickup.

I think his recordings on the 'Songs From The Wood' album were done with a Music Man - not sure if Sting Ray or Sterling though!

I could be wrong here but from my Tull days I seem to recall that John Glasscock didn`t play this gig. He was unwell or something and I think the guy who played bass was Tony Williams.

It would have been a Stingray - the Sterling didn't exist then.

Not all telecaster basses have the big pickguard, only the later ones.
The late 60's tele basses look exactly like the first precision basses.

I ordered my tickets ages ago & still haven't received them. Starting to get a bit concerned as it was from a ticket agency I've never used (or even heard of) before.

When I say "got my tickets" what I really meant was ordered and paid for my tickets! The gig is in Blackburn on 20 April so not concerned yet....
