jakenewmanbass
It's a difficult one to tell, at the current bid (£200) any working bass is a bargain. If it's czech it could be a nice sounding bass. It looks quite well set up but it's hard to see whether it's laminate and whether it has an ebony board. ask those questions, and if you can get a chance to have a play. If it's carved/solid (unlikely) got an ebony board then anything under £1000 could be a nice buy. bassace
It looks quite interesting with those hat-peg tuners. Could have quite a bit of history. As Jake says, anything up to £1000 would be OK.
geoffbassist
I agree with bassace and jake. Shame the pictures are not better, but I think it looks like its worth considering.
JakeBrownBass
It may be just the pictures but it looks as if the bridge needs resetting, seems to have moved.
BassBus
Is that a crack behind the nut?
sarah thomas
When I bought my double bass, I sent the pictures to Pete Tyler to ask his opinion. He was really kind and helpful, so you might like to try him. I bought a copy of his book as a thankyou - and it's well worth it too. I changed the strings yesterday for the first time which I suspect saved me the cost of the book.
