Mr. Foxen Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Assembled out of accumulated parts. Still need black scratchpalte screws really. Finished it near 2am so no chance to plug it in yet. Quote
BigBassBob Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Wow! I had to tilt my monitor back to see the pickup, and I can't even make out the pickguard outline! Blacker than black XD Quote
Nibody Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 How much more black could it be? The answer is None More. None More black. Like everything about it apart from the Tele-style neck - really dont like them but thats personal preference. Still a nice looking P though. Quote
Jondeeman Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 It's black! Very black! Love it. Can't believe you got past 2:01am without plugging it in. You're clearly the very definition of a "good neighbour". Quote

allighatt0r Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Whats the story behind the cable tie? Quote
EdwardHimself Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 (edited) axesrus sells black pickguard screws. And you they sell jack sockets with black nuts on them as well . Can't beat a bit of black, that's what I say. Edited January 14, 2012 by EdwardHimself Quote
The machine heds don't have capstans, so when I was taking the neck on and off a bunch of times to get it set right, the cable tie stopped them falling off, so I just needed to slacken/tighten rather than having to rewrap. Think might have to add a mudbucker. Quote
Bottle Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited)
Think might have to add a mudbucker.
Sweet idea - might I suggest a Wilkinson humbucker and string with flats? My Vintage 'ray copy sounds pretty muddy/dubby with one of those in. Switching arrangements - well, a centre-off toggle with both pickups in series should get you there - with each switch position cutting one of the pickups Sort of like this: HTH, Ian Edited January 16, 2012 by Bottle Quote
Mr. Foxen Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 Got a Dimarzio Will Power for the purpose. I run two outputs and two rigs and go for a entirely different thing to Billy Sheehan. Quote
Grassie Posted January 17, 2012 Posted January 17, 2012 Not black enough. Headstock needs to be black too, with a silver decal. It will look awesome. Then you will truly be the Prince Of Darkness... Quote
