Do EMG do a pick-up that has the legend 'EMG ELECTRONIC' stencilled on the outside like this?

Added to which it looks very crude underneath (just a pair of Jazz pups in a MM casing though the top shows the 4 large pole magnets) and certainly the wiring/soldering looks a tad shoddy for EMG! I could be wrong but it just doesn't seem like an EMG product.

Well spotted but the seller does clearly state 'EMG' in the title and in the listing. An oversight or hoping to catch the unwary/stupid?

it's the cheap way to make them, two sets of coils around large steel pole pieces with the magnet stuck on the bottom.
As opposed to the real thing which uses magnet pole pieces and the two coils.

Bar magnets on the bottom - a sure sign of a quality pickup.
Not.

Plenty of quality pickups have a bar magnet on the bottom, usually a bit less crudely installed, but essentially a ceramic bar with ferrous poles. Dimarzios are generally like that, and ceramic Kent Armstrongs.
