nickcarey Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) Epiphone EB-3 Bass & Matching Case I bought this as a spare bass. It works well for rock & blues as the sidewinder pickup produces a thunderous sound. I’ve spent extra on it by getting a luthier to dress the frets & move a strap button for better neck / body balance. The bass now plays miles better with the frets smoothed out. The action is low for this type of bass. The neck is thin, fast and feels similar to a Jazz. Specification: Cherry Red Finish Mahogany Body and Neck Thin body & neck Passive Electronics Rosewood Fingerboard Trapezoid Fingerboard Inlays Sidewinder & Mini Humbucker Pickups 34 Inch Scale Length Chrome Hardware In top condition & 18 months old with only light signs of wear. I am a tutor and look after all my gear. Price: Bass & Case: £185 NOW £150 SOLD + £15 P&P I used the bass for a recent demo with a function band. This will give you an idea how it sounds: http://www.theshimmi...co.uk/index.php My personal messenger is playing up so the best bet is to get in touch by emailing me directly via: Edited February 13, 2012 by nickcarey

Oopsdabassist Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Nice playing! It occurs to me, that I aint gonna get the sound out of my more 'Hi-fi' Eden rig...Or am I being silly here? Never had a Valve setup, so not sure of myself TBH.
nickcarey Posted February 4, 2012 Author Posted February 4, 2012 Thanks, I don't use a tube amp either. I just go through a Korg pre-amp into 2 solid state Ampeg combos.....simples. I do prefer the more retro / vintage sound from passive basses.
