My EUB must've been put away for about a year and the strings are tacky and a bit grimy on the fingerboard-side. Any suggestions as to what to use to clean them up a bit?

They're D'Addario Helicore Hybrids but they appear to be rather high tension. So when clean I may switch them with something. I'm playing standards so any suggestions?

A bit of cotton wool soaked in surgical spirit should do the trick.

String wise, you could go down the synthetic gut route - something like Innovation Honeys or Velvet Blues.

Hi Dan

I have Innovation Silver Slaps on my BSX Allegro and think they're great. Highly recommended and not too expensive either.

Thanks for your help guys!

I'm in that no doubt familiar situation of using only the piezo on my CR4M but reluctant to restrict myself in future endeavours. Do either of those strings work with magnetic pickups, or should I just go with piezo?

Thanks again!!
