Clarky
I got this recently from BC'er Soliloquy. Its the 8 ohm version of Acme's rarely-seen (at least in the UK) and much-praised Low B2 cab and is in very good condition. While it has superb hi-fi like clarity - making it wonderful for double bass and those who prefer totally uncoloured sound - I just don't think it has quite the volume capabilities I am after, as I was looking for a cab to double between electric and DB. Having A/B'd them properly in the past week, its not as loud for example as my Wizzy 12" 4 ohm cab. These cost over £500 to import from the US, after shipping and import duties, and I will let this go at the £300 I paid*. I don't have a box big enough so in the first instance its collection only (I am in West London, nr Hammersmith) Edit: * now £280 Stock pic: Specs here: http://acmebass.com/ SOLD Edited March 4, 2012 by Clarky
Clarky
Bunch of reviews for those unfamiliar with this ultra high clarity cabinet http://acapella.harm.../t-1873679.html http://www.talkbass....duct/187/cat/28 http://bassamps.blog...i-cabinets.html http://www.bgra.net/...51&type=cabinet The blurb from the website says:

A very compact cabinet with the bass extension of a good 18" subwoofer.

Amazing transient response; from the fundamental of the open B-string, right up to the highest harmonics of a C or F-string.

Loud enough for a single cabinet to hold its own against most drummers.

High power handling. 350W RMS is a good starting point due to the relatively low efficiency of the cabinet. 500W RMS is ideal. The more power, the better the sound. (Within reason - It's only a 2x10"!)

Use it with an upright bass for loud jazz gigs and be rewarded with true acoustic tone.

A pair makes a very loud, versatile and compact rig. Stack them end on end for amazing dispersion and clarity or side by side for enormous kick. Use them as a high quality PA. For those occasions where true bass response is paramount, monitor your recordings with them. They really are that 'HiFi'! And the entire rig will still fit on the back seat of your compact hatch. Gwilym
I just don't think it has quite the volume capabilities I am after
Are you sure you're putting enough juice into it? I see the Clarus is only 350watts at 8ohms. These are great cabs though, and this one used to be mine. I got it off ebay from the original owner early last year as a "backup". It was very lightly used when I got it, and I didn't use it at all other than at home because I had my 4ohm version I was rehearsing/gigging with. Sounds like you haven't used it in anger either. The only reason I sold my B2's was to clear some space - I've held on to my 2x LowB1's as a mini stack, and I don't think I'd ever get rid of those. If it were the 4 ohm version (the Clarus + puts out 800W at 4 ohms) I definitely wouldn't be selling

Clarky
Possible trade offer on this but may well not work out. So bumping for a cash sale still. Would consider. Trade for a Markbass LM2/3 or F1 with a bit of cash thrown in from me.

Clarky
Due to zero interest, I am withdrawing this. Its actually the best sounding cab I own so I will use it for practice at home. No biggie
Clarky
Back up FS due to incoming Epifani UL310 cab. You will not find a clearer, better sounding cab than the Acme Low B2 (excellent for DB) but it doesn't have the out-and-out volume capability to be able to double up for a noisy band. Kiwi
Have an admin bump - I think this might have been one of mine at some point? Clarky
Thanks Kiwi (still can't get used to the lack of Crazy ...) I put an AI Clarus and Markbass F1 through it and unfortunately they put out 450W and 300W respectively at 8 ohms - which means the cab sounds wonderful but not awfully loud

I bought it off ebay from a chap in Milton Keynes who bought it direct from ACME I think. It's also the newer "series II" version of the cab with the polyswitch on the tweeter.
