Skezza
Hi I have been thinking about buying a Warwick corvette with 2 j style mec pickups. What I want to know is do the pickups hum if used on their own do they both have to be on (like on an old jazz) for them to be hum cancelling skez Edited February 1, 2012 by Skezza
warwickhunt
Not sure about exact models but I've never had any problems with soloed MEC Jazz style pups in the NT active basses and I doubt that would be different to the rest of the range. Not sure that any of the MEC J pups are single coil passive so it'll not be an issue.
Dirk_Warwick
Hello Skezza, Since those pickups are single coils they don't offer hum cancelling if used on their own. I've never experienced any exceptional hum issues with them. Best, Dirk
ColinB
I've got a Corvette with the two j-style pickups - they hum and the two are not a hum-cancelling pair. It's never caused a problem on stage, but it's a real pain in an orchestra pit when surrounded by power cables, little transformers for keyboards and music stand lights etc etc. as you have to be super quiet between songs. fender73
Mine hum slightly when i'm close to my amp - other than that, never been a problem and they sound amazing in the mix band wise. Never also been an issue when solo'd
