Try the 'original' by Deep Purple: - http://www.911tabs.com/link/?3693405 - Ab, Eb, Bb, F looks about right - I'm away from my bass at the moment so can't check.

There are two earlier versions:

The Real Original written by Joe South & recorded by Billy Joe Royal:

& the one that Joe South recorded a bit later on, which is virtually a facsimile of the BJR version - both pre-date the Deep Purple take.

Pete.

I got too play this with the drummer form Kula Shaker at music college many years ago B) by pure coincidence my functions band a are playing at a wedding in a few weeks and the bassist from Deep Purple is some relation to the groom, so they've all had to learn it so he can come onstage for a jam with us - bit gutted I won't get to play with him, just let him use my kit :(

Buggered if I can remember how to play it though, I've probably got score somewhere.
