TommyK
I've just blown all me christmas money on a new pedal so thought it was time to think about a pedal-board re-shuffle... The pedals i need on the board are: Boss TU3 MXR octaver ibanez Chorus Proton (filter) Darkglass B3k (Yay! the new one!!) I have always had octavers first, then tuner, filter, od, and finally chorus.... what are your prefferences on this..... and why? Cheers in advance. sixdegrees
I just stick to a simple rule of having tone pedals (octave, overdrive, fuzz, wah, etc) first, then time-based pedals (chorus, delay, etc) at the end of the chain. Although some people find good results by putting tone pedals in front of the pre-amp, and having the time-based pedals in the FX loop. simwells
Personally with those I'd go Tuner > Octaver > B3k > Envelope > Chorus Tuner always first to give it the best signal to work from then octaver for same reasons plus I don't like putting an effected signal into one. Then fuzz/distortion as again earlier always sounds better though obviously it's getting a bit of a struggle now, plus I like distortion into filters rather than the reverse. I would play around with what you like the sound of though.
cheddatom
deffinitely try the filter both sides of your dirt, it's very subjective. I have a choice of fuzz after filter or OD before or after it on my board.
Al Heeley
Simwells +1 ^ My personal prefs. Some prefer dirt before chorus, some after. See which works for you. Deffo tuner first though.
