andytoad Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 Right, Fretless bass...compressor,some light octave, moderate chorus and some twiddley metal things on the fingers. Am I right or way off the mark? Quote
andytoad Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 Id like toy trains around my head and at a push (in a different tune) id even settle for a Kate bush duo, but my question is, can this be done live in a pub impressively? will the 4 channel calsbro PA cope with such a varitable feast of aural colours? andytoad Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) you never heard of funky fingers? Tony Levin stylee? Edited January 20, 2012 by andytoad Quote
2pods Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 When we did it I used a fretted bass and a SB1 (before they went mega priced). After I sold it, I just used the octave drop on my Ashdown. Quote
wombatboter Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 There are no funk fingers involved... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptmDZ5JiLf0 Quote
risingson Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) Tony Levin also played this particular tune with a pick on the original record, as well as on fretless and with an octave pedal/nice dash of chorus. I regularly play it out live for covers work. It's always a first set tune, but it usually gets people dancing, plus it's a hell of a lot of fun to stretch out and play around with my sole effects unit... my Boss OC-2! RichF Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 (edited) The basscam shot it excellent if you actually want to see Tony L play it - it's a pick not funk fingers. Higgie from here does a good video. Edited January 21, 2012 by RichF Quote
