buff
Mmmm tough question lol, weighs a bloody ton. Bit stumped about a liightweight cab other than a super 12 or a GK 212.
Lozz196
The SVT is a great amp, but, virtually the same sound can be obtained with your PF500 by using a DHA (Dave Hall Amps) VT1 pedal. It warms up the sound to that classic "just breaking up" sound that valve Ampegs such as the SVT have. I had this set-up for a while, and it was very authentic, but without the backache. In this setup were a Barefaced Compact & Midget, and have to say, they are very good at putting out what you put in - so if Ampeg sound goes in, it comes out uncoloured. The buzz about the Super 12 seems very good at the minute, so worth checking out.
buff
The PF has gone back to loud Lozz, have the chance of the svt at a price that's worth having to carry it.
grunge666
Go for it man!! It's an Ampeg SVT!!
chrismuzz
I say go for it too... You shouldn't have trouble shifting it again in the unlikely event that you dislike it
lovetheblues
So what's wrong with the PF500 then? Didn't like the sound or had the cutting out problem?

[/quote] Isn't it made that you have to go for 'vintage' gear from the same company for more reliability! Sign of the times!

Don't personally like svt's that much but thats maybe because i've had to service some of them
