Old Horse Murphy Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 (edited) For sale is a new Thomann 22 (made by Hora) Solid top, laminated sides 3/4 size Double Bass. It is in absolutely mint condition and comes with a fitted Bassmax pickup and Fishman Platinum Pro preamp. It also has a superb quality Tom and Will heavy-duty gig Bag and a Hercules Double Bass stand. The bass is superb and had been recommended to me by a pro DB player. It is less than a month old and has never left the house. it's also recently been fitted with a set of Kolstein strings. The bass cost me £700, the pickup and preamp were £160, gig bag was £125, strings were £100 an stand was £35. Total cost was £1,120. I'm looking for £900 for this and don't want to split. Why am I selling? All will become apparent shortly. If anyone has an NS NXT they want to part-ex I'd be very interested, or a Dingwall 5 string or new series Fender US 5 string. Do a quick search here and you'll find I've rambled on about them and their capabilities enough. For that price you're getting a great set-up that will last you a long time and can cover a lot of gigging ground.

BassInMyFace Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Literally just over my budget limit but in essence this is the exact set up I am looking for (bar the bass being a little older). Not stringing you along (pun intended) but also feel it would be a cop out to but entire set up in one go, where's the fun in finding your own gear, getting the best price etc. Yes it would save 2 months + in research time but thats part of the fun ain't it?? In all seriousness, from my research this looks like a Billy bargain, good luck with the sale, sure someone less foolish than myself will bite your hand off!!

sarah thomas Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Makes me feel I was a bit hasty in my own purchase - this sounds such a great deal that I think anyone who can almost buy it should really go the extra distance rather than miss out. If this had been on two months ago there would have been a fight for it.
