jc_riffs
Hi guys. Just recentley got hold of my first Eden rig after many years of umming and arring. Just a quick question that might seem a little naieve. I am playing a Bacchus Standard 5 that has an on-board J Retro Deluxe pre-amp installed. Now is it important that I have the -12db engaged when playing. When it is engaged I didnt get the full powerful Eden tone that I have heard so much about. I was setting the gain around 2-3 o'clock wwhich cause the gain light to come on, so im guessing the output of my bass isn't too hot to be playing without the -12db pad engaged. Is it safe to play this rig with an active bass without the -12db engaged? Thanks J
Merton
It's safe, just turn down if you get clipping or bad sounds

jc_riffs
cheers boys. when i had the -12db engaged the volume and power just wasnt there for an 800w amp. when the pad was engaged i had to set the gain at 3 o'clock and the master at 1-2 o'clock to get any sort of ummmmph, and that was in a small practice studio. My bass mustn't be as hot as I thought
