The video is a very fair representation of the sound. I absolutely love using a plectrum, it simply ticks all the right boxes for me
Mylkinut Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Didn't even know I was gassing for one of these...

Chris90 Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 Beautifull bass. Is this one USA made? the 6119B?
munkonthehill Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I hadnt really thought of selling my Ric. However if anyone is reading this and wants to buy my ric for Michaelg's asking price then I would let it go and then buy this bass. (if that makes sense)
Monckyman Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I look at this bass daily. You too could be Eddie with this guitar.
LemonCello Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Proper beautiful that. Good luck with it... LC
Michaelg Posted February 11, 2012 Author Posted February 11, 2012 PM's replied to - apologies for the slowness, only got those messages through last night.
lozbass Posted February 11, 2012 Posted February 11, 2012 Not necessarily my kind of thing, other than it's short scale, but I think this is absolutely lovely!
munkonthehill Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 I'm unsure of this short scale malarkey! I'm playing a MD sig p-bass and a 4003 ric. Are these basses long or short scale??

I don't know of an official description, so the following is 'about'...Short-scale is around 30-31", medium is 32" and long around 34" (extra long is 35" and up)
Its brilliant once you get the hang of it in the words of wikipedia: On a modern bass guitar, 30" (76 cm) or less is considered short scale, standard (also called long) scale is 34" (86 cm) for a 4-string and 35" (89 cm) for a B-E-A-D-G 5-string. I think your Rics scale length is 33.25 making it technically a short scale! Edited February 12, 2012 by Michaelg
munkonthehill Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 What a short arse. No wonder the P-bass picks on it. Infact, I just realised I ain't played the ric since I got the P-bass hahaha

Michaelg might have a better chance of selling a Rick as they appeal to a wider audience.

tom1946 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 I often send basses without a case, not difficult just a bike box cut down and lots of scrunched up paper etc' Bombproof
