MarkG3
Hi everyone, Over the last week or so I have been busy bringing back to life my old Squier affinity pbass that I have had pretty much since I started playing. This bass saw many of my first few gigs but then it sat on a stand until now. It was covered in 12 year old duck tape, electrical tape, stickers and had numerous holes where I had abused it badly. So lets have a look : Stickers removed - although still residue, everything removed back to the body. Finish removed Sanding completed Holes filled in Holes filled in Primer done on the back and side - Bit of a run on the upper arm but I got that sorted! Primer done all round Edited January 25, 2012 by S9_S12_Bass

Not bad for a first attempt! Edited January 25, 2012 by S9_S12_Bass
Immo
Nice P-Bass. Personally I'd go for tortoise shell pickguard and chrome covers, but it really looks cool the way you did it
Mylkinut
That looks grand. +1 for chrome covers

MarkG3
Thanks! yea I have thought about that actually the scratchplate already has the holes for the covers! I'm really pleased how it has turned out Edited January 25, 2012 by S9_S12_Bass
Mylkinut
Go on, I've got covers on both my Ps. Always a conversation starter, usually people asking what they're still doing there
MarkG3
Any ideas where I can get some? I have found a seller on eBay for the bridge so that's ok, they do have the pickup cover but I can't see how it would fully cover them so I think going by the dimentions given its for a jazz bass. leftyhook
That's a beauty. Frozen White does depict a slight hint of blue, so I will use my imagination to see it in al its glory. Well done mate.
Nibody
How did you find the paint "setting"? Had right issues with my purple build.
MarkG3
Thanks! The paint setting wasn't too bad, I did the front and back pretty much at the same time, then left it to dry in the garage hanging until the next day so for about 14 hours and it was fine! Any ideas about the pickup cover?
MarkG3
Bridge cover has been ordered from AXESRUS Just got to find a pickup cover....
Nibody
The one in the ebay link looks good - I've had stuff from Pappa-D's on ebay before - honest seller. Best to measure up the holes etc on your P see if it looks like it will fit.
MarkG3
On the link it says the screw hole centres are 123mm apart - on the scratchplate the holes are 115mm. Also says the width is 50mm, but if thats the case then some of the pickup will stick out because to completely cover would be 55mm Just found a jazz pickup cover and the measurements are pretty much the same as the ebay link Edited January 25, 2012 by S9_S12_Bass

Mylkinut
Good call - I believe the Jazz pickup cover is a bit skinnier than the Precision's. It's going to look (even more) sharp
BottomE
Thats really, really nice. Never was a fan of white basses but i have to say that your bass looks flippin lovely. Post some pics of the chrome when you get it.
