Hi all!

Can't believe I'm doing this, but can't afford keeping basses I don't dare to bring to a gig, so this collectable BT4 from -86 is up for sale.
All original and in perfect working condition.
Truss, electronics, hardware, everything works perfect.
It has a 5 piece laminated body. Mahogany core with a thin layer of walnut (I think) and high figured flamed maple facings.
Had the frets leveled by a great luthier here in Sweden last year.
Some wear around the pu's and in the back of the neck, but nothing that effects the playing. Some minor dings in the back.
Comes in original hardcase and I can ship anywhere.
Any questions? Please, feel free to ask.
Never seen one of these here in Europe before, so don't miss this opportunity to buy a piece of history!

I've a BT4-86.

I thought that all Smiths of this era were through neck and with concentric treble and bass + pan + vol and without switches...

But, I suppose, I'm wrong....

Can you, or someone, clarify me on this please

Thank you

Pbat, this one is very similar to many KS from -85 with the dovetail neck joint and the 4-knob/one switch config.
Ken him self has confirmed the year though. Maybe it finished early in -86. :)
But from -86 and forth you don't find many of these. Most ones has the neckthru, but shortly after came the CR-model.
So I think it's hastily to say that ALL were made NT back then. :)

Hei Jen,

I've assumed that probably I was wrong....anyway thank you for clarifying

I've tried more than 20 Smiths and for sure the playability the 80 series is unbeatable.

...and your bass is absolutely superb.

Realized one couldn't tell from the pics, but it has a 5 piece laminated body. Mahogany core with a thin layer of walnut (I think) and high figured flamed maple facings. Combos you'd see on the elite-models today. One of the craziest top woods I've seen.
