FWIW, not only is it rare because they were only made for a year, but it's also one of the very earliest of the run, produced before they moved to a darker 'burstier' finish. lozbass Posted January 26, 2012 Share Posted January 26, 2012 Fabulous - love these and super-rare. I've had a Precision Special (LPB) and really regret moving it on. The quality of fit/finish/materials etc. is excellent on the Specials in general. The circuit is also superb (Fender's first). I had the circuit cloned around '81 and then fitted into my Ripper (it's still there and still working now). A bargain for such a rare, high-quality Fender!
