This is my old bass... it's lovely. The active circuit on these are great.

FWIW, not only is it rare because they were only made for a year, but it's also one of the very earliest of the run, produced before they moved to a darker 'burstier' finish.

Fabulous - love these and super-rare. I've had a Precision Special (LPB) and really regret moving it on. The quality of fit/finish/materials etc. is excellent on the Specials in general. The circuit is also superb (Fender's first). I had the circuit cloned around '81 and then fitted into my Ripper (it's still there and still working now). A bargain for such a rare, high-quality Fender!

Beautiful bass! Normally I wouldn't even look at a Fender without a maple neck / fretboard / headstock...but I'd play this one every night of the week!

Don't you remind me! haha. Couldn't pass on the sweet price though, and I was on a pretty tight budget at the time. ;)

I played a LPB Precision Special years ago when I was looking for my first Precision. Massive sound, and yours is far nicer than the mullered one I saw
