Jamesemt
What are your thoughts? I've emailed the bloke selling them and he reckons the fit and finish is quite good. I understand you never get a free lunch, but am in need of a cheap 5... Don't know if I can link to eBay here?? If you search for Marcus miller replica
Machines
Not much to tell from the pic is there ? I'd expect this to be highly dubious and not a patch on a real one.
Jamesemt
Yeah I wasn't thinking it would be anything like a MM, just wondering if it would be worth it for a cheap Jazz 5... Yeah I think I'm just deluding myself!! Edited January 26, 2012 by Jamesemt
dannybuoy
Probably nowhere near as good as the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz V - take a look at that instead!

yorick
Judging by the labels on the scratchplates, those are pix of Fender MM basses
Jamesemt
I presumed they'd copied the stickers...guess I'll stay away (and the search continues!!) Thanks guys
mikeh
The controls and scratch plate look wrong for a real MM?
Fat Rich
The controls and scratch plate look wrong for a real MM?
I agree, only three knobs. The MM has four, a mini toggle and the socket moved over as that's where the extra knob has gone. Also no screws seem to be holding the control plate down (fine by me, I'd be putting a stock Fender plate back on anyway so less holes to fill). I wonder what logos are on the headstock? Ghost_Bass
I can't seem to find them, is it on UK's ebay or international? Can you PM me the link please?

Ghost_Bass
From the pics a get the feeling that it's a simple passive J with a MM'ish pickguard. It only has 3 knobs and if you look closer to the PG you see that there are no screws to remove the battery wich makes me think that there is no battery routing whatsoever. Another thing is that it lacks the pickup cover on the neck PU! For the price it could be a nice 5 string J bass to use and even upgrade but it all would come down to it's tone, finish quality and feel!
