This bass is now at www.bassgear.co.uk for sale on consignment (http://www.bassgear.co.uk/products-page/pre-owned/mtd-535-24-pre-owned/) and is withdrawn from sale here.

On this goes to Bassgear the price will be higher so if you are interested this is a good way to grab a bargain on one of the best basses money can buy!

I've had a few trade offers. To be clear, I am not looking for trades on this as this is a cash raising exercise. I appreciate the offers but its a cash only sale.

I should also mention that this bass is currently strung E-C but I can restring it B-G if you want.

Not 100% sure on the weight, I could weigh it tonight. Its not a heavy bass, but its not Sadowsky light either. I'd guess in the 4.2-4.4 kilo range but will confirm tongiht.

According to my fairly unrealiable scales my guess was spot on, it range from 4.2-4.5 kg on the scales (which gives me a different reading each time I get on it!).

I just got a chance to A/B this bass with my ash/maple 535 - I'd say they are about the same weight, and mine is a shade under 9.5lbs in old money (about 4.3 kg).

It's a very nice bass too (the pictures don't really do it justice!), but too similar sounding to mine for me to seriously consider buying it. Mark's bass looks a lot better though. :D

Mark, thanks for indulging my curiosity this evening, and good luck with the sale. Whoever picks this up should be very happy.

Cheers

Thanks G

Glad you enjoyed playing it. I have a feeling we may have swapped straps as I now seem to have a comfort strap without straplocks on the bass. Are you missing a strap?

Quite close to the same spec as mine, apart from the top and neck. Mine has a myrtle burl top and a one piece birdseye maple neck. I can vouch for the quality and craftsmanship of Mike's basses. You would have to flip a coin between getting an MTD or a Ken Smith...they are the best in the business hands down IMHO.

If it wasn't for the fact I am selling my 535 I would be straight in there, especially at that price! Good luck with the sale Mark!

The other is for sale in this thread. However, I am planning on taking this one up to Bassgear on Saturday and from then it will be available from the shop.
