All,

I have more basses than gig bags and since my original Wal hard case fell apart years ago (wish I'd kept it now, even though it was trashed), I could do with something good but inexpensive to carry the the old girl around in. So, can somebody a good, cheap(ish) gig bag.

Thanks
Phil

I wouldn't carry a Wal around in a cheap gig bag and would pay out for a Mono.

I'd go with that, not cheap but definitely worth it. I love mines to bits, water proof to.

+1, or maybe a ProTec.

Cheap gig bag = False economy.

Probably best you don't have any kids then. You'll worry yourself into an early grave (apart from which, if social services find out about you keeping the kids in a hard case they'll be taken away).

Think I'll give up on this thread and go talk to the cat :-)

Gigbag should never appear in the same sentence as........................................................................................................ Wal
Hardcase however! ;)

I've got a very expensive Ritter gig bag and its crap. The stitching has pulled apart along the top seam. The Lull Protec bag that came with the bass has the same problem.

Can you afford a Harvest gig bag? I have hardcases for all my basses but only take them out of the house in the Harvest.

If it has to be cheap-ish gigbag (ruling out a Mono, which is my preferred one) then the Madarozzo bags that BassDirect ships some of its basses in are OK at about £30 http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Madarozzo.html

To protect and to carry more easily my electro acoustic bass, i have 2 ways

- my RITTER double gig bag (for 2 basses !).
I paid around 80€ for it.

- a semi-rigid TOBAGO case
around 70€

I hope it will help

I have this http://www.thomann.de/gr/thomann_premium_gigbag_e_bass_br.htm and it's very good.It has 30mm high density industrial padding which is more than most gig bags and like the description says it's very firm! Very good for the price they sell it.
