Hi, is there anyone among you who has expierence with (one of) these basses and can tell me how they cut through the mix in a band that is mostly playing Swamp-Rock?
I never played either of these basses and I'm not in the capebility of doing so.
So any input is welcome!!!!

Thanks!

Swamp Rock is more about the rhythm than the notes. Just get a fat, full tone with not much going on up high and you'll be in the ball park. You shouldn't need to "cut through" unless you're being swampped by your guitarist. Sort him out, swamp rock is about the rhythm and the spaces.

Creedence is good but for me the king of this style is Tony Joe White.

Most of the guys I've seen are playing a Pbass of one type or another.

....I know there are other perfect basses around! Just need to know about the tree above mentioned....

Just make them sound like a £300 Precision.

In concept the AC will be closest.

I'm partial ;) but in my experience the Sadowsky M5 has the advantage since the neck PU is pulled slightly more backwards compared w the more traditional placement on the F-bass and the AC. Also the soapbars have a stronger mid punch than single coil type pu's.

Ah, I understand now. I'm not really down with the lingo of different music style ;)

I've so far not found a situation in which the Sadowsky doesn't work really well, although I can't claim knowledge of it working with this music style.

I've played both CCR and Tony Joe White songs on an LM4. I've also played them on a KBP5.

The LM4 was OK, it has a pretty good pre-amp, but the KBP5 simply nailed them effortlessly.

I'd point out that the F bass is the only one with 3 band eq, and it's all about the mids if you want to cut through IME (although with the rig in your sig, I'm sure the Fafner would sort you out with either bass).
